• Do you offer a complimentary consultation prior to scheduling?
I highly encourage this! Before booking a full session, I gladly offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call where you can ask any questions you may have and gauge if we'd be a good fit. You may fill out the form on this page, or email me at Meredith@nextmilecounseling.com to set this up.

How do I know if I need therapy?
I am a bit biased and believe anyone & everyone can benefit from individual therapy! However, noticing that you aren’t feeling like yourself could be an initial sign. Crying more often than usual, feeling unmotivated, worrying too much, trouble sleeping, struggling in your interpersonal relationships, relying regularly on unhealthy coping strategies, or experiencing a stressful event or life transition are just a few examples.

    Do you accept insurance?
Next Mile Counseling LLC provides private pay services in order to meet each individual’s needs without limitation. Although we do not directly bill any insurance companies, a detailed Superbill can be provided if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Please check with your insurance company about your specific out-of-network reimbursement policy. To learn more about Superbills, check out this link:
    Superbill FAQ

What forms of payment do you accept?
Next Mile Counseling accepts all major credit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards. Each client is required to keep a card on file via our HIPAA-compliant platform.

I am not located in Tennessee. Can we still have sessions via telehealth?
Sadly, no. At this time, to maintain compliance with licensure regulations, both you and I must be located in the state of TN during the virtual appointment.

Do I have to be an athlete or a runner to qualify for services?
Not at all!!! Although I have special interest and experience in working with athletes at all levels (from hobbyists to those who compete at collegiate, professional, and even Olympic levels), that is not a criteria for our work together. I will likely encourage some kind of mindful body movement for nearly all able-bodied clients, but there is SO much more to our lives and our work together.

How often do you see clients for therapy?
It depends! I recognize that each client is in a different place with their therapeutic journey, current needs, financial constraints, and availability for scheduling. While I recommend that clients are seen weekly at the beginning of most therapeutic processes, You and I will work to help you learn the skills necessary to gain autonomy and participate in sessions less often as you grow in therapy. Clients at Next Mile Counseling are seen as often as once (or twice) per week while others are seen as often as once per month, once quarterly, or on an as needed, maintenance-type basis.
